Finding People

Do you wish to find estate heirs or beneficiaries or other missing persons?

Since 1991, New Zealand Genealogy has successfully identified and located missing persons for intestate and testate estates in which beneficiaries are missing or unknown. This frequently involves multi-generational investigations using many resources. Whether only one person needs finding, or 100 or more, we have the necessary expertise for a successful outcome. Each person and relationship is verified with documentation.

Clients include executors of deceased estates, lawyers, Public Trust Offices and other government departments, probate genealogists ... in fact, anyone who wishes to locate someone in New Zealand.

Are you an adopted person?
Once you have received information about your birth mother or birth family from the Child Youth and Family Department and the Department of Internal Affairs, New Zealand Genealogy can investigate what happened to your birth mother or family or, if still alive, locate their present address(es). Provide us with the information you have gathered.

Do you want to locate old friends or lost relatives?
New Zealand Genealogy carries out the research necessary to enable long-lost relatives, siblings and friends to be reunited. Tell us as much as you know about the missing person.

We can help.
We know where to look. We have a wealth of knowledge, experience and resources. Success is the usual outcome.

In addition to consulting our huge, in-house collection of reference material, our knowledge and expertise enables us to access well-known and less well-known resources in various government departments, archives and libraries throughout New Zealand. Furthermore, we have agents in most western countries who can help in the event the missing person has gone overseas.

The utmost discretion is used at all times.
We will not make contact with the people found or anyone with whom they are associated unless requested by you to do so.

You will receive a report fully describing the investigations undertaken and the results achieved. This will be accompanied by supporting documentation and - if necessary or desirable - a family chart clearly showing beneficiaries and family members.
